Orange Twist Cookies with Dark Chocolate Drizzle

4 cups AP flour
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon sea salt
2 sticks unsalted butter
1/4 vegetable oil
1 cup sugar
3 large eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 teaspoon orange extract
Zest of 1 orange (approximately 1
tablespoon)

-Preheat oven to 350*
Prepare cookie sheets by lining with parchment paper
-combine flour, baking powder, baking soda & salt in a bowl & set aside
-place butter & sugar in bowl of stand mixer & cream until softened on low speed at first then raise to medium add oil & continue mixing
-add eggs one at a time and scrape down bowl after each addition
-add extracts & orange zest
-reduce speed on mixer & add flour continue mixing until all dry mixture is combined
-empty dough onto lightly floured surface and roll into a log
-cut log in 1/2 and wrap each log in plastic wrap, refrigerate for 1 hour.
-using one log at a time, reserve other 1/2 of dough until ready to use.
-slice log into 2 inch slices, working in small batches
Take each dough slice and roll out long strips of dough approximately 1/2 inch thick
-cut strips of cookie dough into 8 inch long pieces
-to form cookie bend each 8 inch strip in half, hold in the center of the loop & twist the ends until desired twist.
-snip off the edge of ends to make even and place twist on cookie sheet (reserve extra dough until done making the bulk of the cookie and roll into a ball to repeat process)
-bake at 350* until slightly golden
10-15 min depending on size of twists
Allow to cook on racks
Drizzle when completely cooled

*For Dark Chocolate Drizzle*
8 oz of semi sweet or dark chocolate bar (chopped) or chips
Zest of 1 orange

-melt chocolate in double boiler or in heat proof bowl over barely simmering saucepan filled with water
-whisk to be sure completely melted & silky
-pour into small squeeze bottle
-drizzle over cookies
-sprinkle orange zest over cookies before chocolate is set
